There was a successful do at Barrow Hill Roundhouse last weekend when Flying Scotsman and Tornado starred for the public.

However, the week before the Roundhouse was open for a preview of the changes to members of the Society, it was much quieter but it was good to see how the changes hove been implemented.  It's lost a bit of atmosphere for us old photographers but generally a great job has been made.

It's a long time since I used this Blog so it's time to fire it up again.
Anyone in Manchester during August 2017 should visit the Art Gallery and see the wonderful Shirley Baker exhibition.

Yorkshire 2013-04 - Knaresborough - Blind Jack Metcalf

These Yorkshire photos were taken as part our last weekend away with the Leica Fellowship. These photos are of Knaresborough which is a fascinating town with lots of photo opportunities. This is the sculpture of Blind Jack Metcalf - a famous 18th century road builder.

We visited the RAF Museum and Scampton earlier this week which is full of fascinating exhibits showing the history of the RAF.  It also shows warplanes of all sides in major conflicts and has some fascinating and moving 'social histories' about the major aspects of war.
